MOMMA HOW DO YOU PRAY?
I can remember when I was a very little girl about 3 years old; I asked my Mom "How do you pray?" She told me it was just like writing a letter. From that day on, my prayers always started with "Dear Jesus". I could always take my hearts deepest thoughts to Jesus. He was my very best friend.
Then one day when I was about 16 years old, something tragic happened in my life that stole my faith. I felt like Jesus no longer cared about me. Did not listen to me pray. That was the beginning of three of the darkest years in my life, I lost my very best friend.
It wasn't that I no longer believed in God, just that I was only a speck in his eye, and didn't really matter to him.
TIME PASSES
I had a Chihuahua that gave birth to a puppy. He was only about 3 inches long and did not even have his eyes open yet when he became very sick. A navel infection caused his little tummy to become swollen, hard as a rock and all purple.
We lived 80 miles from the nearest Vet. There were no phones and no penicillin. I knew he was going to die.
I saw this as one more painful event in my life. Still the most painful part of my life was being without my Jesus.
I held that dying little pup in my hands and I started to pray, but it was more for myself than the puppy.
"Please Dear Jesus, if you still care for me, show me a miracle and heal this puppy."
At first I didn't feel God listening but I continued anyway.
"If you care about me........ Remember the miracle of the dew on the fleece?
(Judges 6:36 - 40)
When Gideon asked for miracles to prove Your word. Jesus, this little puppy is as good as dead. I miss you so much Jesus, If you will just heal this puppy, I will know you do love me. Thank you Jesus."
As I prayed I could feel a comfort like a warm fuzzy blanket coming over me.
Well the puppy thrived, he grew up and gave many years of devotion.
Just like Gideon asked for a second miracle to double check on the first.......
The next chance I got to talk to a Veterinary. I asked him what chance a puppy had of surviving with such an infection. Can you guess what his answer was?
One word: -- "NONE". He didn't say "One in a million" or even "one in a quadrillion".... He said "NONE".
I had my Jesus back and to this day I receive the comfort of knowing He is always near.
If you are having trouble communicating with The Master, I urge you to pray for faith. He will always listen even if you don't feel it.
He is listening and caring for you.
He will always answer, it is just that sometime it is not the answer we want...... some times the answer is NO or LATER.
It may not be the answer we want, but it is always the right answer.
36 Gideon said to God, "If you will save Israel by my hand as you have promised-
37 look, I will place a wool fleece on the threshing floor. If there is dew only on the fleece and all the ground is dry, then I will know that you will save Israel by my hand, as you said."
38 And that is what happened. Gideon rose early the next day; he squeezed the fleece and wrung out the dew-a bowlful of water.
39 Then Gideon said to God, "Do not be angry with me. Let me make just one more request. Allow me one more test with the fleece. This time make the fleece dry and the ground covered with dew."
40 That night God did so. Only the fleece was dry; all the ground was covered with dew.
